God obviously had a larger vision for Michael! I think it will take a little to get used to, but to add to that, he will fill the spot rightfully.

This is BS. If any of you think about this in depth it all it shouldnt be to hard to figure out. Michael Tait’s solo career has sucked since DC Talk threw there “hiatus” out there. Peter Furhler wants time with his family (rightly so). However Peter has and is the Newsboys. The studio stuff with Tait, its a total sham with AutoTune everywhere, listen to him sing on radio shows then compare, there is no doubt. Tait has already ruined any positive steps the band took without Jody Davis..
Michael Tait will be just fine with the Newsboys…People are reluctant to change….Change is good….Rock on Michael and the Newsboys…I”ll be driving too many miles to see you…but it’s worth it….Godspeed….Christ is the bomb!

OK, When I heard that Peter was no longer the lead singer of Newsboys…I was in shock a day or 2. But, I’ve always loved Michael Tait’s voice. I have all DC TALKS CD’s…and All of Tait’s solo CD’s….So, I figured this can’t be that much different.
It’ll just be a different ‘accent’. *S*

I have always loved Peter and he had his own great talent, but I’m accepting the change and I think that Michael being the new singer is an amazing choice!
Pete Furler picked Tait, we’ll see though…no one can replace Peter, his cool accent & humble heart.
This is too new-we’re still in shock! Accepting just like that is not always possible, there band isn’t aussie anymore (sigh)
The Newsboys have been awesome. It is my opinion that we give Tait a Christian welcome! He’s got a great sound, lets see what he can do with/for the NEWSBOYS.
No-one complained when Paul Coleman joined the Newsboys did they? That was an amalgamation of two of the great Christian artists, so what’s wrong with adding Michael Tait to the fold? He’s a great singer and Peter will still be leading the Newsboys in the recording/songwriting aspect, he just won’t be singing. My only problem is that this band has always had a special place in my heart of being a great Australian Christian band, and now there’s only one Aussie left! =(

man the newsboys are gonna suck now…on offense to tait, but the newsboys doesnt go with his vocal style. they shouldve just either quit or gone on a haitus or something, but i think putting tait as the main is a wrong move.
Why did Paul leave?? I wouldn’t be so upset about Peter leaving if Paul was still there singing backup and playing guitar. But losing Peter and Paul at the same time is way too much.
In my honest opinion, I wasn’t really stoked about this change. Ever since Phil left, I haven’t heard too much about the ‘Boys. Phil was an amazing vocalist and songwriter, and to lose someone like Peter on the road could be shaky. I love Mike, and I hope he does well with them. I keep reminding myself they don’t look at this as a business, but as a ministry, and I have to bear that in mind with this decision.
Petra did the same thing with John Schlitt, when Greg Votz left. The group just got better! John brought a whole knew sound and changed Petra for the better:) Let’s see what happens…it may just bring newsboys to a whole new level
Please note that there was NOT an overwhelming positive response to Tait joining the band on the Newsboys Message Boards. There is still tons of fans furious and upset over this news. Believe me, I’m active on the boards.
I totally agree with you! The Newsboys isn’t the Newsboys without Peter. Period.
