I am going to miss Peter, that old style BUT Michael ROCKED that song, not THAT was beautiful! I love his version of Glorious. I didn’t know it was Newsboys at first becasue I didn’t know about the switch. Honestly, I have never been a true DC Talk fan. Toby Mac fan, Michael Tate fan but not a DC Talk fan, so I am glad to see Michael with an awesome band!!
I went to winter jam a few days ago in Tulsa Oklahoma and I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about tait singer for the newsboys, but wow did tait and them bring down the house. They rock out and everyone had a blast. Having seen them perform in concert I’d have to say that they made the right move. Cuz I’d definitely go see them in concert again.
Peter has been in the band since the beginning, over 20 years ago. And he did EVERYTHING in the band. He was lead vocals, he wrote the music and the lyrics, he produced the record and toured, obviously. Doing ALL of that for over 20 years would no doubt wear someone down. I have no doubt that he left simply because he felt his time was up. God did amazing things through him, so therefore I am certain that it had nothing to do with the reasons John James left…

I went to their concert in Houston this weekend and it was brilliant. Michael Tait puts on a great performance. It was certainly not a disappointment for this Newsboys fan. I just wish they had done more songs.

John James needs to come back also. He should have been the new lead singer.
I can’t help but wonder if there’s more to Furler leaving the band than just that he needs to spend more family time. Don’t want to make anyone overly concerned, but remember John James?
i like michael he’ll do good with the newsboys… hearing this song different is kinda weird tho, i like it but its not the same. i thinmk once they start recording new songs with him it’ll be better. i love the newsboys im glad michaels there!!

I think its still the newsboys just the lead singer just doent have an accent. I dont care but I will miss taitband

I think the newsboys are still the newsboys even without some of the original people. Does it really matter whose the lead singer??? NO as long as they are for god it doesnt matter. I love Tait. he’s amazing!!!!!!!!!! God bless them!!
PETER IS THE NEWSBOYS! He was the only original member of the 1985 newsboys. I don’t like all of these changes will phil joel leaving too. I do enjoy Jody’s presence again but still, Peter needs to come back!

I’ve been listening to them since I first started following Christ. I’m going miss him, but I really like tait!
You know. I kinda like Micheal Tait. I mean he’s an okay guy and his voice isn’t even bad at all. I can’t wait for their new CD. I do miss Peter but come on guys, he didn’t even want to be the lead singer. He just did it so he could keep the band together. But you know who I REALLY miss? John James. He is so cool. I wish he would come back. It’s so sad the way he had to quit. I am so happy he turned back to god.
What did he do to you and your friend? If it can be told of course…
hmm, I like it, it’s less unique, but he sounds a bit more soulful and emotional, doesn’t fit the music as well, but when they write newer stuff for him to sing it should be good
my only concern about Michael Tait is the lack of power on the high notes, but seeing him sing with them gives me a little hope. My dream is that the newsboys now tour with Toby Mac :3
