Actually, the word strictly means the lack of belief in God, not religion. The lack of belief in religion is oftentimes just a consequence of that same lack of belief in God, but not always, since there are those people who are atheists but for some reason read and believe in astrology, ghosts, karma etc. Meaning there are atheists who are religious, but it’s not that common.
There is no man on the face of this earth that can tell me more about death or god then i already know, he cant know more than anyone else!!! There is a difference in belief and think they are two different words and people continue to say “i believe” when really they just think it!! Belief is totally different!!!!

@Sarge084You shouldn’t base parts of your opinion, concerning the clergy, on a few twisted people. To be fair, science has proven that the earth wasn’t created in 7 days, but not that a heaven or hell doesn’t exist. I’m sure that science will prove or disprove this in the future, but you shouldn’t belittle ppl or make fun of them for believing, or having faith in a religion. Religion at its core is about treating ppl decently as well as taking care of one another and the earth, to be stewards.

@Hipno702 When you speak of proof and stuff, God says without faith it is impossible to please him. It’s hard, but Its the fact that we have faith that God did all these things, so I don’t blame people for believing in evolution, cuz its right there. While believing in something you can see, or have proof ever happened takes a large amount of faith. In your case, I’m glad that you at least consider theres a God.=P
@ChangedFigure so maybe we are wrong about the existence of god. nobody really knows for sure. and the ppl that say they do r a bit delusional. but i don’t rule anything out but i would much rather think that their is a god instead of thinking that pretty much just going through the motions till i die for the hell of it
@ChangedFigure pretty much my whole belief is that there is too much indisputable proof to say that evolution is a theory (i.e. comparison of human and primate skulls, adaptation, fossils) but evolution can the answer to how we got here but not why. cause evolution is scientific fact but i have to believe that there is a god out there. because if we’re just a by-product of a chemical reaction then we would have no purpose in life. and thats really depressing.. so maybe we’re wrong about the

@alexthasy Each of those people took over states that were deeply religious (Germany was atheist?), and your examples used the thought-dampening power of religion to pursue their agendas. Besides, Hitler was no atheist (Catholic!) and Stalin was educated in a seminary.
