@PrayerWarrior4 Yeah, I know she was in the faith chapter, it just seems like chronologically she wouldn’t fit in to be Boaz’s Mother. I did do some studying on it, but I found that this era is kind of difficult to dissect…
Definitely no hard feelings… I pose that question to everyone who makes a claim about something to do with the Bible. “Got a Scripture to back that up?” LOL
Cheers!
@Thistlesifter220 this Hollywood version is a little fuzzy on the details…the true story is far more beautiful (at least in my opinion) because Ruth learns about God’s love, and falls in love with a holy man, not because he was a rich old man, but because he was compassionate, kind, gentle, wise, and obeyed the Lord…
@Thistlesifter220 your welcome
no hard feelings…Rahab is even is even in the Hebrew chapter and in James…you can tell she is a woman highly praised for what she did due to what she believed… in the chapter of Ruth you can tell how accepting Boaz is to Ruth when other Hebrews were not…he was understanding and God blessed him for it…
@PrayerWarrior4 Okay, I found it… it seems like Rahab would have been too early to have been Boaz’s Mother… maybe Boaz was like – real – old when he and Ruth got together.
I will have to study into it. Thanks for the motivation.
@Thistlesifter220 yes, in Matthew, and in Joshua…Boaz’s mother was Rahab, a prostitue in Jerico who hid the Isralite spies sent by Joshua, in the end, because of her great faith, she and her family were saved. Rahab was accepted by God’s people, and was married to one of the spies before entering the Promised Land…she is in the linage of King David and Jesus Christ…
@PrayerWarrior4 Got Scriptural proof to back that statement?
@Thistlesifter220 -You got that right-
@KimLeeX oh yes, later on…
Boaz mother was a gentile woman,
“what did Boaz say at 4:33?”
“be that as it may”
Boy… Ol’ Hollyweird can’t ever get it right…
Whoa! INTENSE! they got along fine in the bible…heh, what fun is in that huh?
@KimLeeX the BIBLE actually said she that she and Mahlon were married 10 years, and then he, his brother and father died. Obviously, she left with Naomi and got married to Boaz.
what did Boaz say at 4:33?
I hate who gives big mouth over a woman.
First it was Mahlon Second was Boaz and that was it.
So did Ruth ever got married again?
oh man 5:52 what a character. he’s so funni
Ruth decided she would help to glean the barley in the fields, to feed herself and Naomi and to get a store of grain for winter. Gleaning was a common practice in ancient Israel
of course in the Bible he already knew she was a Moabitess when he gave her permission to glean in the field lol
