  • Hey hey,
I’m Izzy. It’s been one of my dreams to pick up guitar playing, but I’ve always put it off for the indefinite future because I felt that I didn’t have the time to do so. Recently (about 2 months ago), I decided to drop unimportant things in my life (i.e. socializing too much on facebook, watching too much TV shows and such) and made time to teach myself to play the guitar through youtube/free online guitar tabs and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.

    I have learned that:
    1) You only have time for things that you make time for.
    2) The fears that you have that’s stopping you from following your heart and your dreams are usually irrational
    3) Listen to the voice within, trust it and go it because you never know where it will take you

That’s what I would like to share for now :) Thanks for reading!

  • Etsy.com is a great place to sell hand-made stuff. If you open an etsy shop, you can put right in the description that you are doing it for charity. Then you have a link you can share all over the web and people will come and shop!

  • I love open mikes!!

OK. I was in a band for the past 5 years, called “Blue Grass Orphans”. We sunk all our money and energy into a recording last fall, then when we got the product in our hands, our guitar player decided he was done with the band and wanted to go in other musical directions. No touring, no promotion for the CD. Just a pile of beautiful shrink-wrapped music in a cardboard box.

SO….if you like bluegrass music old-school style…you can look us up on iTunes or Amazon or wherever you like to buy on-line music…or you can contact me here and give me your address and I’ll mail you a real CD. It’s shrink-wrapped and everything.

  • An idea: Because I’m a fiber artist, I have A LOT of handspun hand dyed yarn around the house. I really want to use up my yarn stash but I don’t just want to give it all away. So, I came up with an idea. I’m knitting hats, bags, and other small items including felted purses. I’m hoping to sell them all in some venue and ALL the profits I make I plan to donate to a charity. Since I’m also teaching I can’t knit eight hours a day, but I really want to minimalize my fiber and bless others at the same time. I just don’t quite know the best way to go about the selling part.

My insecurity: what if no one wants my wares?

My goal and dream: Ugandan orphans will have a better home to live in and clean water to drink. I will have an almost empty closet with no more bags of beautiful yarn hiding behind doors.
