Why Job’s Wife May Have Said “Curse God and Die”

November 29th, 2010 by admin

Just My Thoughts

Job’s wife "had it goin’ on" (slang for she was living the good life.) Her kids were quite the wild bunch of young people, but she was well to do and she had a faithful man of God. Job was a good man, husband, and father.

When Job lost everything, she lost everything. All she had was God, her man and her health. To make matters worse they didn’t lose all of what they had over a period of years, months, weeks, or even days. IT WAS ALL IN ONE DAY. This had to have caused some major stress on Mrs. Job.

All of her children DEAD! Her husbands income GONE! Her wealthy or need for nothing lifestyle NO MORE! Her husbands physical appearance UGLY! his hygiene TERRIBLE! and his breath FUNKY ewwwwwwwww… who wants to kiss a man with funky breath? so NOT attractive.

And on top of that these huge puss filled bumps all over his body. Mrs. Job saw her husband picking at his skin one day and that must’ve been the last straw.. It was at this point that Mrs. Job decides that her husband should "curse God and die."

Why at this point? Mr. & Mrs. Job most likely weren’t "gettin’ busy" if ya know what I mean. It appears that no amount of teeth brushing, listerine and scope mouth washing helped. Now I know we’re all good Christian folk and everything but c’mon… most people don’t want to kiss their yuk mouth spouse.. let alone touch or be touched by a body with peeling skin all over and huge puss filled bumps. It’s a turn off to say the least.

Sooooooooo "that part of the marriage" was probably a no go… and like some men, some women get upset, antsy, stressed, impatient, etc when they ain’t "gettin none." Maybe that’s why Mrs. Job said curse God and die. So she could remarry and start over and not be deprived in that area of physical pleasure meant for husband and wife. Or perhaps she loved her husband so much that she couldn’t bare to see him suffer any longer. I have no idea the Bible doesn’t say.. I’m just thinkin’ out loud lol…
