Bethel> I read that the cleaning spray Formula 409 got its name because it took 408 attempts to get the right formula.

Bethel> Also, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes resulted when a batch of wheat was left in a baking pan all night long. Kellogg’s Corn Flakes were created by mistake.
Bethel> Those “mistakes” became successes. They turned what appeared to be an accident or a failure into something very successful.
Bethel> Those are people in the business world who created successful products out of mistakes.
Bethel> So why do we think that our lives should be any different when we’ve made mistakes?
Bethel> We have all made mistakes, had some failures, done some things that we wish we could just go back and push delete on, but God is saying, “No, let Me use it. Don’t waste your pain. Let me turn it into something that will help somebody else.”
Bethel> Philippians 3:13-14 says, Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus.
Bethel> If you don’t let your past die, then it won’t let you live!
Bethel> Whatever happened….God KNEW it was going to happen before He ever created you…He’s NOT surprised by it, still loves you and still wants great things for you.
Bethel> It could be that it was no fault of your own. You couldn’t help what happened what others might have done to violate you.
Bethel> Like any other aspects of healing from rape and/or sexual abuse, low self-esteem is very common.
Bethel> If this issue is something you struggle with, know that you are not alone.
Bethel> However you find your self-perceptions changed after such horrible trauma(s), know that you are valuable, worthy of respect and deserving of love and support.
Bethel> No one has the power to take that away from you.
Bethel> No matter how you came to feel that you are responsible, you never were and never will be.
Bethel> Violations against someone involves a complete loss of choice and for that reason your traumas(s) can never be your fault in any way.
Bethel> Rebuilding our self-esteem can be a difficult and long journey.
Bethel> As difficult as reclaiming ourselves may be, we must remember that God says we are worth it–we are valuable and precious to Him.
Bethel> We deserve to feel secure about what we need and want out of life and others. We deserve to stand up for ourselves.
Bethel> Some may say, “I really want to believe what you are saying…but I can’t because…” And then they might say how wicked they’ve been and how God could never forgive them.
Bethel> Reality is…God has an amazing plan for your life right now. Unfortunately, too many people are too close to their past to fully understand their potential–how gifted by God they really are!
Bethel> When we embrace who Christ is…what He’s done…and what He’s called us to do (confess His name and repent of sin) then the possibilities are unlimited as to what Christ can do in and through us.
Bethel> this is a familiar verse, and I like the translation from The Message Bible
Bethel> Jeremiah 29:11-13 (The Message) "I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed. God’s Decree."
Bethel> He’s NOT through with you! He’s still got a plan and purpose for you…don’t allow your past to be the prison that prevents you from the amazing potential that is yours in Christ.
Bethel> Many people go through life feeling discouraged about themselves and thinking they do not have a purpose in life.
Bethel> But that’s not true. Whoever you are—whatever your life experiences, talents, physical ability, or role—you have a purpose.

Bethel> For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:1).
Bethel> So…confess, repent…and when the devil comes at you with your past then, remind him of his future.
Bethel> The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7 ‘as a man thinks in his heart so is he.’ Your thoughts play a big part in what you become. Do you find yourself talking to yourself?
Bethel> I know I do…a lot…
Bethel> It is to learn to control your self-talk and eliminate negative and limiting beliefs.
Bethel> If you want to succeed in life you need to believe that you can, and tell yourself that you can. The Lord is by your side, and you are going to make it!
Bethel> If you want a better life, control your self-talk.

Bethel> What deep seated beliefs are you holding about yourself and your abilities?
Bethel> How many of those beliefs limit you?
Bethel> Do you tell yourself that you have what it takes? Or do you tell yourself that you can’t do it?
Bethel> You can consciously program your subconscious for success or you can carry on allowing your limiting beliefs to hold you back.
Bethel> We think many thousands of thought each day.
Bethel> Many of them are negative.
Bethel> Negative self-talk lulls you into believing that you’re incompetent and unlovable.
Bethel> You’re constantly programming your subconscious mind, you can choose whether to program yourself for success or failure.
Bethel> When you say, "I can’t …" your subconscious cooperates and your words act as a self fulfilling prophecy. Try telling yourself "I can do this …"
Bethel> Your subconscious mind is very powerful. You need to watch what you think and what you say.
Bethel> Proverbs 4:23-24… "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips."
Bethel> Start to become conscious of your thoughts and of your self-talk.
Bethel> The Bible tells us what to think about…one of my favorite verses:
Bethel> Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things
Bethel> "The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." (Proverbs 16:9).
Bethel> Your Past is Not Your Potential. Don’t walk backwards into your future!
Bethel> Unleash your potential. Move beyond your past and into your future.
Bethel> Realize that the past can be a valuable experience, one you can learn from.
Bethel> Don’t Let Your Past Dictate Your Future
Bethel> It is true that our lives are significantly shaped during our early formative years and many of our character issues formed then are with us for the rest of our lives.
Bethel> What if we grew up in a home that was less than wholesome or where we may have been emotionally abused or physically abused?
Bethel> As an adult, overcoming the effects of childhood abuse and being unloved is possible, by trusting Jesus for healing.

Bethel> I have friend who grew up in a very dysfunctional family and because she felt unloved and rejected, especially by her father, she felt extremely insecure and felt that she was ugly and unlovable.
Bethel> True, she was not responsible for her upbringing, but as an adult she realized that she was responsible for overcoming what happened to her in her past.
Bethel> Today, she is a mighty woman of God and has resolved to not allow her past control her future. Good for her!
Bethel> But, if she chose to remain a victim she would have become a willing volunteer.
Bethel> For healthy living and loving relationships it is important that we resolve all our past impaired relationships and forgive all who have ever hurt us.
Bethel> It is difficult to forgive in situations like these, however, we have a Heavenly Father that is ready to help us.
Bethel> We don’t have to remain a victim, and with God’s help, and that of others where necessary, we can overcome a hurtful past and become all that God envisioned for us to be.
Bethel> he choice is ours. So, whatever you do don’t let your past control your future.
Bethel> You cannot change things which are in the past, but you can change the part they play in your future.
Bethel> In one way or another, past experiences have helped to shape the people we are today.
Bethel> Past events have influenced our current situations in all sorts of ways.
Bethel> The past has brought us to the area where we live, it has dictated the kind of work we are qualified to do and has been a factor in all aspects, big and small, of how we live our lives today.
Bethel> To prevent your past from defining your future, you need to put it firmly where it belongs – behind you, in the past, a memory with no power to influence your future.
Bethel> Don’t make the mistake of using your past as the reason or excuse for your failure to achieve your goals.
Bethel> The past might have led you to where you are now, but it cannot reach out and hold you back unless you let it.

Bethel> I am thinking of John Walsh, founder of America’s Most Wanted TV program. When his son Adam was kidnapped and murdered, he turned around that traumatic event by helping to apprehend those that break the law.
Bethel> Think of the wealthy businessmen, leading sportsmen, great scientists, movie icons, super models and entrepreneurs in all walks of life.
Bethel> Did they all achieve success, fame and wealth because they came from a privileged background?
Bethel> Did they all achieve success, fame and wealth because they came from a privileged background?
Bethel> Did they all have caring parents, a superior education and limitless financial backing?
Bethel> Many of these successful people started life in an ordinary or even underprivileged homes, but they were able to achieve success because they did not allow their past control their future.
Bethel> If you’re dealing with your mistakes, you’ll certainly have to accept responsibility for your actions.
Bethel> Letting go of loved ones, whether it’s a divorced spouse, deceased child, estranged brother, or euthanized pet, it is difficult to do.
Bethel> You’ll not only survive, you’ll be wiser, more peaceful, and more centered than before if you learn to let go of your past.
Bethel> Remember that your past does not determine your future.
Bethel> Your past, no matter how messed up your circumstances are, are NOT the determining factors that will decide your destiny.
Bethel> You and only you alone have the power to change your destiny no matter what your circumstances are.

Bethel> Your decision is what will determine your future, your past has absolutely no role to play in it.
Bethel> It makes no difference what was your past was like.
Bethel> Start accepting responsibility for whatever happens in your life from today on.
Bethel> By shifting your responsibility and blaming others, you are only giving yourself excuses instead of being responsible for your own success.

Bethel> I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. He is saying that in order to press toward the mark, we must do two things
Bethel> We have to: 1) forget the past, and, 2) reach for our future.
Bethel> When a trapeze artist is up on the ledge, she is holding on to a bar, and then she swings down. If all she did was let go, then she is going down.
Bethel> She has to let go of one bar, reach out and hang on to another one, in order to get to the other side.
Bethel> It’s the same way with our lives. You have to let go of the past, but you also have to hang on to something else: a vision.
Bethel> You have to hang on to your future. Jesus came to give us abundant life.
Bethel> Satan is working overtime to distract you. The thing he does not want you to have is a vision for your life.
Bethel> He knows that without a vision, you will perish. Perish means to die! You will die without a vision. It’s so vital.
Bethel> You can only conquer your past by focusing on your future.
Bethel> By having a vision, or a plan, for your life. And the most important vision that you could ever have is for your relationship with the Lord.
Bethel> I can tell you that when you start setting goals to get to know God better, it will move you right into His perfect will for your life.
Bethel> This is not about being legalistic–that you have to read a certain number of chapters in the Bible everyday or pray for a certain amount of time during a certain time of the day.
Bethel> Have your own plan to get to know the Lord.
Bethel> Because the closer you get to God, the more you learn about Him. The more you spend time just hearing the Word, the more sensitive you become to hearing His voice.
Bethel> You don’t question ‘was that God or was that me, or was it even the devil’.
Bethel> The closer you get to Him, the more you will know when He is leading you.
Bethel> And it’s not hard. It really doesn’t even take much effort.
Bethel> You can listen to a faith-building CD while you are getting ready in the morning, or riding in your car.
Bethel> Praise and worship CDs are a huge blessing as well.
Bethel> Successful people don’t become successes over night. They became a success because they had a plan.
Bethel> When you get a plan to get to know God, He will lead you into His perfect will for your life.
Bethel> Success starts with getting to know God!
Bethel> The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. God has plans for your life.
Bethel> He wants to use you – your past and your future – to help others.
Bethel> So don’t be stuck in your past. God’s not.
Bethel> Get a vision for your life.
Bethel> You can only conquer your past by focusing on your God-given future!
Bethel> Let’s pray…
Bethel> Dear Lord Jesus, we give thanks to You for loving us so much that You gave Your only Son for our redemption, and our healing.
Bethel> Lord, we lift up our brother, SeekHm1st, asking You to completely heal him and give him strength.
