Religion Does Not Denote Faith Let Alone Spirituality

The word spirituality is being bandied about like coffee, pizza or donuts and with the same or equal belief that if you take a slice of this or that your spirituality will be boosted. Spirituality is not a garment worn externally as it applies to faith within and if we are struggling with faith then it shall behoove us to forgo thinking about spirituality. Reduced or diminished faith is akin to baking a cake without turning on the oven; it just will not bake.

By definition faith means trust and if we baulk at anything which questions our belief system in God or ourselves then we have more work to do. All is not lost because actually the road to spirituality is a lifelong achievement and worth being dedicated towards.

Religion by definition is a man made development with harsh intrusive laws and regulations centred on superstitious practices to maintain a firm hold on its congregation. F – E – A – R was used extensively and caused more witch hunts than you can shake a stick at but worse still it is restrictive on one of the most basic human needs: L – O – V – E!

There are signs in churches of varying denominations hinting towards the importance of loving one another but they lack the reinforcement of positive examples thus miss the mark by a mile. It is counterproductive to slam any one church or group as there are too many similarities between them that differentiating them is superfluous.

Faith is also not defined by rigorous application towards duties, promises or blind adherence to fulfilling promises but true faith flows like a stream or a river towards the ocean of humanity and life on earth.

Religions because of their structure require rules and demand adherence towards those rules with little or no room for allowances recognising the myriad colours of life. If God is so forgiving why do religions not follow suit and why also religious followers feel the need to be so fanatical in their devotion?

Good grief if a couple in a romantic relationship were as fanatical about all details of their loving relationship the graveyards would not be full; no they would be over flowing because relationships would be intolerable. With this in mind then why do we allow religions to have such strictures in place giving carte blanche approval towards censorious teachings?

Whatever the answer may be always know that God has His arms outstretched towards each of us ready willing and more than able to show us how to live by following his Commandments with L – O – V – E as his central theme. Enjoy your journey, have a ton of fun and wipe away that serious countenance especially the seriousness of spirit that does not serve anyone at all.

Useful tip: wear colourful clothes and keep away from black even if specified for auspicious occasions and live life to the fullest guided by a discerning mind an aware consciousness and happy spirit.

We are never alone! I made this video to a song I love that I find very encouraging during times of unwanted trials. I pray it encourages you! When the answers that we seek, seem to bring no release. And the simple prayer we begin to pray, is to feel His sweet peace. When the trials seem to come from every direction without fail. And the devil tries to knock you down, but his tactics end with no avail. When the cross we carry begins to run our patience thin. And you look around on all sides wondering how it all will end. Just lift your hands up in the air, and praise His name still. Knowing you are in His grace and for you He knows His perfect will. Stay true to His Word! On your knees His face diligently seek. For in His strength and refuge; renewal comes when our flesh gets weak. Trust Him and have faith in His promises and to the world do not conform. I once fought alone as a silent solder among a crowd of enemies. I was a sweetly broken child in a world that could not seem to understand. A lost kid just trying to find love and a hopeless teen seen only with judging eyes. Broken lost and hopeless to the world around me, I was nothing. Hate was my only friend revenge was my only goal and hurt was my only feeling. Drugs became my escape from life pain and from me. I was running from myself but unknowingly running towards my greatest fears. I was lost with no one that cared. I was hurt with no one to help me stand and I was finally ready to have someone. I opened my mind heart and eyes to God and found that he had been there loving me when I didnt think anyone could. He was there even after my mistakes. He was there loving this broken child that just needed some hope in a broken world. Today Im slowly piecing my life back together with God as my inspiration my hope and my driving force. I once fought alone as a silent solder but now I stand strong in who I am knowing I have some one that is there fighting alongside me.

The 20th idea in the manifesto is:

Spend time alone. See this list of ways to free up time for yourself — to spend in solitude. Alone time is good for you, although some people aren’t comfortable with it. It could take practice getting used to the quiet, and making room for your inner voice. It sounds new-agey, I know, but it’s extremely calming. And this quiet is necessary for finding out what’s important to you.

I don’t have trouble spending time “alone.” But turning off all the electronics and really quieting my mind is tough.

I challenged folks in our community a while back to spend just 15 minutes in silence.

No TV. No cellphone. No Internet.

Just silence.

It was tough.

15 minutes of just sitting still, avoiding all distractions.

But it was also more beneficial than you might have imagined.

Like most things — you just have to do it. No more thinking or dreaming about a time to do it — just mark it on your calendar and do it.

Challenge: Find some time this weekend to spend alone — in silence.

Turn off your phone, computer, TV and other media and find a quiet place in your house.
Visit your local park and walk the trail alone.
Go for a drive (away from traffic) with no radio, no phone.
Go for a bike ride.
Take a walk around your neighborhood in the early morning dusk or at sunset.
Grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy sitting on your porch or patio.
Find a quiet place and bring a notepad for drawing or doodling your thoughts.
